SCALA Models Academy – 2015/2016 First Graduates

Mecca (apocketfullofbutterflies)

Two years after that January 6th, in 2014, SCALA™ is so much alive, strong and an award winner SL model’s Company.

This January – 2016 – SCALA™ had another Graduation Show, celebrating their second Anniversary, too.
19 Designers supported this showcase, with exclusive creations, that can still be purchased at SCALA’s show audience area:

Amarelo Manga (Men)
BAREROSE Tokyo
Faster Pussycat
Ghee
Hate Me and Eat Me – h.m.a.e.m.
JUMO
Me Sew Sexy – MSS
Nyu
Petit Chat
PREY
Prism
RAPTURE
SHEY
Snowpaws
TASHI
Tres Beau
United Colors
ZIBSKA
Wicca’s Wardrobe

After three months of intense training and before their Graduation Fashion Show, SCALA™ Trainees did their final runway exam.

Finally, Graduation is complete with a runway show. In our opinion, SL Models may be better at one of another aspect of modeling, but they must master the runway easily. Ultimately, a Graduation Show is an opportunity to celebrate a learning experience that goes through three intense months.

Here are SCALA’s Graduates – on January 9th 2016.

My experience training at SCALA Models Academy was truly amazing. I love the way the instructors, related SL modeling to RL fashion genres and styling. Since I am a blogger, I appreciated the blog class as a way to truly market yourself to an audience. As a stylist, I would say being able to style within theme is handy for model. I can’t say I have a favorite class I truly enjoyed the entire experience. From the runway courses to the styling classes, I have learned so much from the industry about the industry mostly how to conduct as professional model and how and when to pose. I am confident to know I can walk any runway and I can follow direction. But most importantly I know who I am as a model.

My experience training at SCALA Models Academy was a very positive one. When I attended SCALA I was not a brand new model and already had work experience and certificates from other SL modeling academies. I found out there was still much to learn and gained valuable skills through the personal attention of the talented and knowledgeable instructors at SCALA. I highly recommend SCALA to all beginning and advanced models.

From day one, my experience training at SCALA Models Academy far exceeded my expectations, which were quite high based on the feedback from others who were familiar with the Agency or had attended the Academy already.
I simply cannot recommend it more. Our class was composed of models of varying degrees of experience, from Veterans to newer models, and the Staff made sure to serve the needs of every level of trainee.
A tremendously rewarding experience that made me a MUCH better model than when I walked in the door. The personal attention, tips and tricks and one-on-one coaching and mentoring from one of the most professional, experienced SL modeling staffs on the Grid was invaluable.

Pros:
– An amazing, ridiculously-experienced and knowledgeable teaching staff: Seashell, Kryptonia, Wicca and Linda have been leaders in SL style, fashion and modeling since the early days. Add the wonderful Prisilla Avro into the mix and you have a Modeling “Dream Team.” Their reputations are impeccable and their depth of knowledge is really unsurpassed. For a new, up-and-coming model like myself, I could not have asked for better mentors and coaches.
While they represent the “Elite” of SL Modeling, they all conveyed the importance of being humble, even in the face of great success. No egos, no drama, just really amazing women with a passion and dedication to their craft.

– The Style of Instruction: Firm, Demanding, but Fair and Caring.
You WILL be pushed by the staff. But it’s for your own good. And it is always delivered in a way to cause you to be better, not to tear you down.

– Vision: What SL Modeling Should and Can Be
Seashell, Kryptonia, Prisilla and Wicca have a very clear vision for SL Modeling and are working tirelessly to see that Vision realized. Hearing Seashell articulate where SL Modeling has been, where it is at, and where she would like it to go was extremely inspirational. So inspirational that I wanted to contribute to that by hopefully being part of the Agency in the future.

– Tips & Tricks:
You’ll pick up all kinds of little tips and tricks to make your life as a model SO much easier. From Inventory Management tactics to advice on how to reduce lag during runway shows, to how to become a better stylist, you’ll get them all. I’m a fairly advanced SL user with good knowledge of styling, but there were dozens of “Aha, why didn’t I think of that?” moments during my training.

– Flexibility:
SCALA offers both weekday and weekend classes, so regardless of your First Life schedule, you are given options to work with your other commitments. You are also able to swap between classes if “Life Happens” which gives you additional flexibility.

– Focus on the “Model Mindset”:
One of the most unique characteristics of the SCALA Modeling Academy is the Agency’s focus on what I call “The Model Mindset.” Not just the unique and distinctive attitude that you bring to your modeling, look and styling, but also how you view and overcome disappointments, lost jobs, criticism and some of the less attractive characteristics of modeling. Seashell spent an entire session on how to balance these things, keep perspective and stay professional. The entire environment created by Sea, Kryptonia, Wicca, Linda and Prisilla was a safe one, where each model’s individuality was respected and encouraged.

– You WILL learn how to pose and do runway.:
I actually joined SCALA initially to gain more runway skills, but in the end, I learned how to be a better stylist, poser and walker over all. Kryptonia will put you through some of the most insane runway designs that you will likely ever experience, and once you learn how to walk those (along with up to a dozen other models simultaneously), there probably will never be another runway that will intimidate you. These exercises were really invaluable, even though they could be extremely challenging. Getting through them was a huge confidence booster and left me feeling that I could take on just about any runway.

Time Commitment:
Expect to dedicate a fair amount of time to your homework and the Academy during your training. It will vary some from week-to-week, and will depend on the complexity of the assignment, but it’s safe to say that you will need to dedicate at least eight hours each week to preparing your homework and completing assignments (this does not include in-class time.) It’s not unreasonable to expect that you may spend at least 12-16 hours on styling and practice when you enter into the more intensive posing and runway sessions. So just be prepared for that.

Cons: I don’t really have any criticisms of the Academy or Program. We did have to reschedule a few classes because of some unexpected, First Life things that came up with the Staff, but it really was never an issue and if it ever put one of the trainees in a position where they couldn’t attend, SCALA would work on that time until it worked for everyone.

No doubts, It’s been such an amazing and enjoyable experience,
Is hard to pick what’s been the best during the past months at SCALA: Sea and her philosophy, Wicca and her master styling class, Linda who turned people into blogging even they didn’t like it at first, Krypt and her crazy runways. All managed with professionalism in a family and friendly environment, great sense of humor and some of the best instructors in SL.
I recommend SCALA to anybody that wanna gets started or just improve their modeling skills, at SCALA you will learn and get into a big range situations that will help you in your modeling career.

My training experience at SCALA Models Academy was well worth the venture and the lindens.
Each and every one of the instructors are very encouraging, inspiring and honest, but kind with their critiques.

There is so much more to SCALA’s classes than the class titles imply. Trainees do not simply learn how to be a model ….. they are taught that beauty and confidence FIRST comes from within ourselves. Our appearances were not changed, but I believe each trainee had more of their inner flamboyant personalities exposed.
I cannot say enough GOOD about SCALA and would highly recommend this amazing academy.
Thank You *ALL* for such a positive experience.

Do you lack confidence? Do you have self doubt? Can you work under extreme pressure? Do you wish to challenge yourself with these aspects? SCALA Academy may be for you.

I went into this with very low confidence, and I wasn’t certain if I was going to accomplish my goals as a trained model. But I have! And it is thanks to SCALA. They have given me the tools to start my modeling career and I have never been happier with myself. I can guarantee you that going in, it will not be easy. It isn’t just about looking pretty… At all.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with SCALA, and I miss the classes even as I write this. I made many friends and I found myself in a position where others began looking up to me, which is quite daunting but it brings me to the realization of how far I have come during these courses. The runway training was especially quite enjoyable, and I doubt that any other academy out there in Second Life quite has SCALA’s take towards it. I do have to say that you will find yourself working hard to improve your image and to go outside your comfort zone if you give SCALA your trust, as well as your hand during their guidance.
I want to thank Sea, Wicca, Linda, Prisilla, and Kryptonia for giving me their time and to teach me everything that they have brought to the classes. Thank you, SCALA, for inspiring me to better myself in this ever evolving world of modeling.

My experience training at SCALA Models Academy was one of the greatest things that I’ve experienced as a model. It made me wiser in all aspects of modeling but especially when it came to styling. I loved all the instructors as they had their own ways of teaching which kept the classes fun and fresh. The beginning classes are great and comforting, really making you feel you made the right decision. As someone who dislikes homework, I was actually excited to do the homework that was given out lol. If you have any second thoughts or concerns, you find out quickly why SCALA is heavily recommended and why they keep winning awards. Not only do you find out how to model but you find out who you are as a model in the process. True professionals making professionals.
Nasir

We wish you all amazing modeling careers in SL and remember one of SCALA’s motto: be the best you can be!
