SCALA™ Models Academy – April 2015 – Graduates

SCALA Academy 2015 - APRIL NEW WS

They have been through a period of training over three months, hard work, fun and responsability; they all know now that we always take very seriously to be a professional model in Second Life©.

They can all testify that, at SCALA™, we never say we are “the best”; we always encourage models to keep learning, keep being up to date, enroll other SL model schools or academies, never stop improving, to aim high – and we mean high fashion.

If a model’s attitude is – as we feel it is – 60% of their professional success, we are the ones who set the example. SCALA’s attitude, as a team, is humble yet realistic – we know we are good. We have the most experienced model instructors on the grid and this is simply a fact, easily confirmed by checking all SCALA’s instructors profiles in SL. It’s simply the truth, not a marketing maneuver.

The team of SCALA Models Instructors, we all bond with all trainees in such a way that here is always that bittersweet moment – Graduation. Time for them to spread their wings and fly, improve each day as fashion models, be trend setters, not followers. Be unique, not copies of others, embrace that uniqueness.

Our hearts are with all of you. This is not the end; it’s just the beginning or a new beginning.
We wish you all the best in your modeling careers.

Here is what each of them has to say about their experience, training at SCALA™ Models Academy.

“My experience training at SCALA Models Academy was a wonderful time for honing my modeling skills. The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional. The classes were well organized and the content was meaningful. All of the instructors were very anxious to answer any question and explained the concepts in detail to ensure everyone understood the information.
I would recommend SCALA Academy to anyone who is serious about improving their modeling skills and desires a quality staff to provide the training to help them meet that goal.”

“My experience training at SCALA Models Academy may be a personal victory. I looked and looked for a complete academy that offered the best instruction and attention to what is new, fresh and modern way to present oneself in the SL fashion world.

SCALA has provided that and the extra as evidenced in the following;

Upon arrival and for each class following Class 101 & 102 was a standout and I knew from that moment this was the instruction for me. Seashell was “awesome” to say the least. From our introduction and getting to know each other, to her scaring us by telling us how awful we were, had a huge impact on what we actually think of ourselves. That jewel is what motivates us that choose fashion as a lifestyle in SL. Her classes were very impressive and made us all hold our heads high even as a lowly trainee. Only kind words and encouragement from Seashell.

Wicca with her wicked sense of humor and stylish ways guided us through styling and stressing the Dare to Wear Attitude. Her introduction to style was amazing and how she was able to teach us to alter our bodies as well as think outside the box really opened my mind to the wild and wicked Wicca. Such a special Designer that promotes her style from simple to GLAM to Fabulous

Zaara fine tuned our ability to make changes to our bodies and really understand the sliders and how our bodies should appear. Without this I am sure you would have seen more apple bottoms and mis-configured avatars in class One of the most important classes for the understanding how ones RL and SL closely mirrors each other.

Modeling 106 for Blogging was a difficult class for me because there were no real answers for people who chose to use Blogger. Once you invest in something it is difficult to make the change so I felt that perhaps it would have been more beneficial to have the instructor off some of both forums that are popular. However, the exercise was very good and the comments during class were also very good.

Now here we go… Seashell’s presentation on Pose Management allowed everyone to understand the art of posing. Not only how to pose but exactly what not to do. In SL you automatically want to exaggerate the poses (because we can) but to learn what are the proper poses and do them is a art itself. LOL on manual posing…. I thought I could never do that and move…but all things are possible and I learned to do exactly that. This by far was the greatest tools we learned.

Now here comes C-R-A-Z-Y
Kryptonia’s classes were beyond all wild expectations. We were warned… but who even knew what was going to be possible.
I was never sure as to come to class with a helmet, hard hat or a parachute. Her dizzy catwalks and deft defying runways taught me not only to walk a straight line but to walk any line regardless of how it is drawn. This class was not only frustrating but FUN!!!!! I could take this class over and over just for the experience.

All said I was almost happy that I was able to continue my training after I had to drop my first class because the entire class is well worth the cost because the experience is the best in SL NO DOUBT!!!!
I loved every minute of the classes and hope that I succeeded and if I fail. Guess what, I get to come back and be a part of something very wonderful in SL.
Long Live SCALA!”

“My training experience at SCALA Models Academy as a SL Model , has been wonderful, from the technical point of view, which I so highly value, both theoretically and in practice , I think this is a very broad and valuable course content. But what mostly caught my attention is how you learn to feel fashion RL and SL and how you adjust to the reality in what SL offers and allows the model to really feel, not only to style an outfit, but also to feel what you wear and feel yourself in it.
As an experience, excellent …

Taking a tour in all areas that we are taught: I have witnesses that can tell that when finished each class, shining, I felt happy, extremely motivated to follow and overcome myself, feeling real, to believe more in myself as I was expanding my learning.
My classes have been entirely satisfactory, yes I have to comment runway classes are difficult, but if you carry them out as you are taught, it is possible. And we must always keep practicing. And I want to point out my thanks to my teachers, I have to say I’m not fluent in English, and I know I could delay the classes, but they have helped me a lot, I felt integrated.
Seashell always dedicated her time for doubts and she summed up the class, if I didn’t understand something and Wicca has tried to speak my language.
Another aspect to note is the atmosphere of tranquility and harmony, the feeling of tranquility, nothing is impossible; if something goes wrong, we do it again positively, without the experience of failure.
I want to thank the whole team for this wonderful experience at SCALA’s Academy, Management and instructors.”

“My experience training at SCALA Models Academy has been absolutely life changing. I have learned so much from so many people and still have much to learn as well as a models work is never finished and she always has new things to learn!
The instructors at SCALA are very educational as well as friendly and I am honored to be able to say I formed a relationship with all of them in each individual way. I can say despite my nervousness I have learned enough to start my modeling career with much much more to learn but I can say this …
I am almost positive no other school will give me what I have learned at SCALA. I cherish my learnings here as well as the amazing people I have met and were able to call my friends at the end of my journey here.
I will remain a team work girl and always help and share with others as I have been taught here at SCALA Modeling Academy – “We work as a team and when we work as a team, great things happen!”

“This was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had since beginning as a model in 2007. It has been nearly 8 years since I began modeling and felt it important to experience how models are being trained today.
SCALA Academy covered the basics and a whole lot more. I now have a blog and this was one of the things I have wanted to do for a long time. As I love runway, the training from Kryptonia Paperdoll was nothing less than brilliant. I found all the runways to be a great challenge and enhanced my skills and my confidence as a model.
Seashell Dench and Wicca Merlin were not only great instructors but amazing support throughout the entire program. I not only have loved every minute of the experience but have been sincere in recommending to other long time models that they should experience this program.”

“My experience training at SCALA Models Academy has been nothing but phenomenal. Each instructor came packed of knowledge and are more than willing to share.
I learned from class 101 the do’s and don’ts about styling. How to think outside of my style to but still being able to stab my signature on it, which has challenge for me altogether. I learned about blogging and how to form a blog and maintaining a blog, shaping to fit the designs equivalent, posing which is essential as a model in Second Life.
Not only was this journey awarding, it was a lot of fun and burst of excitement to take on new runways each time you walk. SCALA has given me the confidence that I need as a male model to walk on the runway.”

“My experience training at SCALA Models Academy was better than I could have imagined. Being a new male model to the industry, I had many reservations. I didn’t want to feel like I was being taught how to be a “pageant” person. Although, nothing is wrong with that, if its what you seek.
SCALA is very high fashion and that’s the lane I want to be in.
The instructors are very informative and personable. I am madly in love with Seashell Dench on so many levels 🙂 I felt SO fortunate to learn from such a professional and experienced individual. I must say, even working nights, spending hours of the day in class only felt like minutes. Time flies when you’re captivated.
Almost 10 years in Second Life and I’ve never taken a class of any kind. Sea and the other instructors are so engaging and knowledgeable. This was a great environment and a very pleasant experience.
I hope to take all I’ve learned at SCALA and use it in my career as a model in SL. If I were to attend another academy, they’d have some rather large shoes to fill. My expectations are set very high after being at SCALA.”
